Sorceress by ColinHSillerud Sorceress by ColinHSillerud
Wind spiraled around this cirque while the lake froze, trapping waves at their crest.

The ice was only about 2 inches thick, but my friend assured me that it was enough to hold us. I wasn't so sure though when pings and other noises like sonar started echoing under us. Then my friend slipped and cracked the ice and his head. Luckily, the ice didn't give!

This is a composite of 7 f 2.8 exposures. Like my previous aurora image, this is one exposure for the aurora and mountains and 6 at different focal points for the foreground blended in post.

brilliant! and i must ay. i think your friend was looking up for that wuld explain his falling down! and the way the ice seems to be layered like soft scales over the body of a dragon and the light brilliant aura as it reaches across the sky like a strange butterfly spreading its wings and lept into flight for the first time as transluent shiny feather like materials floated off in all directions catching the light and creating a prisim like affect and bringing it to life lifting into brilliant beauty this is a truly amazing sight

"Don't worry, we won't slip on the ice!" *crash* "W-well, we might still fall on it..."

I find that being somewhere is only a matter of starting. years ago i wouldn't have imagined going out into the wild, but, after many a small step, this large one seemed easy.
