The name of this image comes from its place in my life. I rediscovered my love for nature and my passion for photography at this location. Then, during a 6-month period of living from a bed because of serious injury, this is the main place I would go in my mind to escape and look for hope.

I simply adore this photo. :D The colours are so vivid and clear, yet so easy on the eyes.. Perfect! :+favlove:

What an amazing place. I can relate in some way, and I have a couple places that I might have just become lost without...Amazing how a landscape can elate you, carry your imagination away, and even be a great friend in times of hardship. I think you have done this place justice. Great work.

Definitely healing effects I can tell. Wonderful shot Colin. Glad you regained your passion, your images are always an inspiration to me.

This is beautiful beyond words. The way the grass and the sheer cliff faces catch the sun is unique to the desert. The way that green canyon leads your eye back to the hidden archway gives this photo a sense of wonder and the promise of adventure. Love it.

I couldn't help but notice the evening that this was posted was the same evening I had been out on a ridge shooting a lightning storm that was taking place off towards the Arizona/New Mexico border. Wonder if it was the same storm you were mentioning in one of your comments above. Certainly was a great light show. Unfortunately, I don't think I captured anything worth posting, but I thought it was neat that the Internet brought together two observations of the same event, from a few hundred miles apart. :)

Thanks James!

Wow that is crazy. I am sure it was the same storm as it was primarily passing to the East of me. Sorry you didn't make anything you liked. Man, if I could have one more crack at so many of the storms I've not quite gotten right. Life of a nature photographer I guess!
