Saint Dusk by ~ColinHSillerud This is the kind of photography that just leaves me utterly speechless...an incredible long exposure just captured perfectly, a beautiful scene! ( Suggested by TRBPhotographyLLC and Featured by kkart )

this is fantastic i always wish i was more artistic be it drawing or writing or photography but sadly i fail at everything, what camera are you using and what filters

I doubt you fail at everything.  Your poetry is full of intense imagery that made me feel as though I were living the moments.

I use a Nikon d800e.  I rarely use filters, but if I do it is either a polarizer or a heavy 10 stop ND filter for cloud streaks on a sunny day.

Thank you. I felt it was very appropriate for the intensity of the scene with winds around 40MPH.

Wow, that does sound intense. Right now, in Hawaii, we're having gusts up to 50 mph and it's crazy so I understand.

I do a whole gamut of processing. It was two exposures taken 1 hour apart from each other. I had to do this in order to have enough light on the foreground to capture wave motion. However, that is only due to the camera's limitations. The human eye, could see the whole scene like this when I shot the sky exposure.

the haloing you see is all natural. i selected the sky as a single block when combining exposures so that is just the afterglow from sunset. funny how often showing something the "real" way looks fake. thx for the input though :)

weird. though might still try and pull it down a bit as even though you selected and placed it in the eye wouldnt necessarily see a halo at that time...at least i'm trying to remember a situation like that...still crazy shot :P
