My first, and pr0bably best, sh0t fr0m my recent trip t0 N0rway. I had h0ped f0r a trip 0f expl0sive light and thunder0us weather, but i g0t either drenching rain, 0r cl0udless skies f0r m0st 0f the trip. just have t0 g0 back, but n0t till the exchange rates change - a burger king meal was 17 bucks!!!!!
This sh0t is tw0 exp0sures [sky, mid/f0regr0und] the wild cl0ud beams at the t0p 0f the sh0t are the sun's rays shining thr0ugh spray fr0m an0ther fall higher up.
The title is N0rwegien f0r "Awaken." It is actually spelled, Oppvåkningen, but DA d0es n0t all0w f0rgien characters.
I really love this photo. The purple tone compliments everything and helps highlight the moving water and clouds by suppressing some of the texture detail in the rocks.
Beautiful! Kudos for this spectacular shot. I was wondering, did you use 2 exposures for depth of field with different focus points or for light with different durations? Or both? Or neither?
Hey man, glad you enjoyed this shot. i used two exposures for the extreme exposure difference between the sky and the rest of the image. the sky was extremely bright, and the rest was in shadow. my eye could see it just fine, but not the camera. i may have used another exposure ~ f8 for the detailed areas of the foreground too, but i can't remember. in order to achieve the time lapse water, a small aperture is often needed, which decreases the sharpness of the rest of the scene.
