I hadn't light painted in ages so this is a bit rough, but the Milky Way was so explosive I had to exhibit it.

Foreground is one pass with a 5500 degree CT head lamp, then once with a red filter on the lamp. Milky Way is 30s at 4000 iso, 2.8.

i love the effect of the light painting, especially the area in the distance. gives the feel of some sound stage. i think one of the qualities of photography is it's ability to capture what the human eye cannot. this is one of those photos that transcends human vision on many levels and does it very well.
