It is wild to experience because the region is pitch black, then the lightning burns itself into your retina and then it's black again, but you have the impression of the blast in your eyes. feels like sci-fi
I know exactly how that goes. I was in the middle of at least 6 insane storms this summer. but that was the problem - i was in the middle! it is hard to shoot when you're soaking and the lightning is right over your head.
With so many stars I'm finding it difficult to figure out which part of the sky this shows...even though I'm sort of an amateur astronomer...and I SHOULD be able to identify SOMETHING! Which direction were you facing. Did you take the photo recently or during another part of the year? In any case, it's really a beautiful shot! I wish that skies everywhere looked so clear.
This was facing North East. I would love to have been able to vary the exposure of the stars more to emphasis the constellations an such, but I found that with them less exposed they were lost completely.
